From sunlight to your board
Panels on the terrace convert sunlight into DC electricity. An inverter turns that into AC for home loads. On an on-grid system, unused units can go to the DISCOM after net metering is in place.
What the survey is checking
Shade from tanks, trees and neighbouring floors matters more than a catalogue kW number. We also read sanctioned load and recent units so the system is not oversized for the connection.

Residential on-grid and hybrid rooftop systems only. A shop, factory or off-grid plant is outside our scope.
Questions
Does solar work when it is cloudy?
Yes, at a lower output. Generation follows sunlight, not heat. A survey still uses a monthly range, not a single daily figure.
